Asela is a young teacher who arrives at a small village school, far from the busy city life he's used to. He's not like the other teachers - instead of the usual memorizing and repeating, he teaches through music, rhythm, and storytelling, and slowly the children start to enjoy learning again. Not everyone is happy about it though. The school principal isn't sure about this new approach, and even the local politician keeps a close eye on him. Along the way, a young woman named Arundathi becomes an important part of his journey. Thaala is a heartwarming story about a teacher who dares to be different, and the children whose lives change because someone finally believed in them.
